Meredith and her staff led people to believe they could legally shield income and assets from taxation by forming phony "pure trusts."  They opened bank accounts with phony Taxpayer Identification Numbers, filed fraudulent income tax returns and encouraged taxpayers to stop filing income tax returns. Meredith was sentenced to 10 years in prison for criminal tax evasion, one of the longest sentences in history for a tax protester. 

Additionally, Robert has testified before the US Senate regarding sham trusts and has trained the Criminal Investigations Division of the IRS on abusive trusts and tax schemes.
