San Francisco Driving on Suspended License
Jan 21, 2010OUTCOME: Case reduced to minimal fine, no DMV points
1/21/10: Today I handled a case involving a driving on suspended license misdemeanor, running a stop sign and failure to have proof of insurance case in San Francisco. At bench trial, The suspended l ... icense case was reduced to a failure to have possession of a license (Vehicle Code section 12500), the insurance case dismissed and the moving violation converted to traffic school. This case resulted from the client being previously represented by an attorney who failed to advise him correctly regarding his license suspension following a DUI conviction. This highlights the complexities of DUI cases and the pitfalls of managing two seperate license suspension cases. Don't make the same mistake, hire a qualified and competent DUI lawyer, even if it costs more. Going on the cheap can truly cost you a lot more in the long run!
