Thank you for your feedback, and I am sorry you had a negative experience. Please review the USCIS website re E-2 visas (https://www.uscis.gov/working-united-states/temporary-workers/e-2-treaty-investors), and you will see that the initial E-2 and any subsequent extensions are approved with a maximum of 2 years. So even if you had requested longer on the DS-160, the most the E-2 can be approved for is 2 years. You may be confusing the DS-160's request for status with the validity of the visa stamp (which is only used for entry into the US and may be issued for 5 years depending on your home country). Once you are here it's your status that determines your stay, and that can only be granted in 2 year increments. Respectively, we did not provide incorrect advice on this matter. Additionally, as you noted, you contacted me with further questions after I left Cornerstone. Because your Agreement was with Cornerstone, I was no longer in the position to continue to provide advice on the E-2. I did however provide 2 contacts at Cornerstone (with whom you had already communicated) who could answer any of your questions.
