David Adrian Lucero

David Lucero is an Associate at Villarreal Hutner PC. Mr. Lucero represents employers in class actions and single plaintiff and multi-plaintiff lawsuits. He has experience defending companies against claims of discrimination and harassment based on age, race and gender; retaliation, including whistleblower complaints; and, wage-and-hour violations, such as missed meal period and rest breaks, failure to pay overtime and minimum wages, unlawful recordkeeping, and employee misclassification. Mr. Lucero has second-chaired two trials through verdict and post-verdict motion practice.

Mr. Lucero's practice regularly includes advice and counseling on a variety of employment issues, as well as administrative agency matters before the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing, and the California Labor and Workforce Development Agency. Mr. Lucero also assists clients in drafting employee handbooks, employment policies, executive and other employee offer letters, and severance agreements. He has also conducted training seminars, including wage and hour compliance and sexual harassment and diversity training and published articles on emerging employment issues.

Prior to joining Villarreal Hutner, Mr. Lucero was a Managing Associate with Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe's Silicon Valley Office where he was a member of Orrick's Labor & Employment Team. Before his time at Orrick, Mr. Lucero was an Associate with Lewis Brisbois, Bisgaard & Smith. Mr. Lucero is admitted to practice in all California courts and is a member of the State Bar of California. David is also a member of the American Bar Association (Employment & Labor Law Section; Litigation Section) and the Bar Association of San Francisco.
