Joseph Campion McGowan

I am an agressive litigator specializing in construction law, with extensive trial experience in all relevant courts and before arbitrators.   I handle diputes about payment, construction defects, bid protests, mechanics' liens, labor claims and generally, with the help of my partners, any legal issues faced by contractors, project owners and sureties.  Unlike many litigators, however, my goal is to resolve disputes in a fashion best suited to the client--and my 23 years as a construction attorney has taught me that litigation is a weapon of last resort.   Formerly general counsel for a large civil contractor, I understand the client's perspective, and strive to maintain a budget for legal services.   I look for long-term client relationships with persons who seek practical, creative solutions and honest evaluations. 

My experience includes litigation regarding roads, residences, large outdoor ampitheaters, horizontal directional drilling and countless other projects.  I also deal with real property disputes, including easement disputes and foreclosure issues.
