Remarkable! A lawyer who truly cares!

Ms. Thrope assisted me in retaining my residency in a low-income housing; the matter was resolved favorably quite recently. If I had been evicted, I would have been made destitute and homeless. I am "invisibly" disabled, and it is alas more common than not that even _more_ duress than is my usual con...dition, is applied to me by the very people who do not have the honor or discrimination to care to understand my limitations. Concerning the 5-star ratings given "across the board", I am myself justly suspect of the occasioned review or assessment that cannot seem to find *any* fault whatsoever, but what am I to do? I decry "grade inflation", but on the other hand, the criterion of the quality of a person has to be in some respect proportional to the gravity of the injustice deflected, and "deflect" she did. ... And it is indeed _not_ because she didn't exhibit "tough love", but I understand this now to have been in the context of her role as Devil's Advocate, as a lawyer has to be. Be that as it may, being plainspoken and aboveboard are rare qualities in a lawyer... and I have not let her know of the past experiences I've had with other lawyers and defendants, wherein the antithesis of these qualities were quite plain. I presume that Ms. Thrope has laid aside the typical career path for a talented, ambitious lawyer, and instead has chosen to represent for a non-profit legal foundation for the advocacy of the troubled and disabled. It is my sincere wish that she prosper in any field that she chooses.

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
