David Thomas Moutoux

When I was starting my business in California back in the early '90s, I needed a lawyer who could help me figure out the right filings and write a will that involved some complicated real estate and insurance policies. And there were some inheritance issues that needed sorting. I didn’t want to deal... with one of those big law firms and pay their rates. A friend told me to talk to Dave Moutoux and I've never worked with another since. Dave used to work at one of those big firms but went out on his own. Since then—30 years ago!—he’s helped me through it all: business stuff, a tough legal battle defending me against baseless lies, (he was amazing to watch in court, I was a wreck) probate, setting up living wills and trusts. I’ve referred countless friends to him, all of whom have thanked me. One of my friends leaned on him to defuse a family dispute. He has set up conservatorships and irrevocable trusts. Dave’s the kind of guy who keeps his cool no matter what, tells it like it is, and always knows what he’s doing. He always answers my calls, evenings and weekends. I’ve had the chance to meet his family, too; they’re lovely. He’s one of the smartest, most strategically minded, and kindest people I know.
