Do not waste your time & Money

I was referred to Alex by the bar association for a family law matter. I was told I Would Be Charged $35.00 for a 30 minute consultation. Once I arrived he walked me to the back where is office was, which he had someone else already in there and rushed them out to have my consultation. Alex rushed t...he entire consulation, what was suppose to be 30 minutes was actually 6 minutes and out the door he told me I would need $2800.00 up front to file paperwork on my behalf and represent me. I felt cheated out of the whole entire meeting with him. He asked me questions super fast and it all felt rushed like he had better things to do. He didn't ask me any questions about my case though. Just my age address, stuff like that. I filed my own paperwork and things actually worked in my favor without hiring him. He will charge a high price for poor effort or work. I would not recommend him to anyone.

This review is from a person who hired this attorney.

Very disappointed with this lawyer!!

I hired this lawyer with recommendations of Legal Shield. I had to substitute him for following reasons: 1- he doesn't seem to get it together. After a conference call with the judge and opposing lawyer, he asked me to provide him for the same documents that I supplied him at our initial meeting.... I asked him which documents did he review before the conference call. 2- all questions I ask of him were never answered. Before he answers any of my questions, he'll ask for replenishment. Example, I asked him why I wasn't advised to cross claim in the beginning of the case. He said we'll counter sue but I have to give him another $4000. 3- seemed like he doesn't listen to my needs. Example: opposing lawyer wants to settle, this lawyer asked me 3 times if I want to settle. I told him I don't want to settle for anything 3 times. I got billed for e mailing over and over for same response. 4- I felt like he didn't work for me, he seemed that he did favors for the opposing lawyer and in return the opposing lawyer will reciprocate in the future: an example of their correspondence: Alex, I am preparing the discovery that I will be serving on your office. I intend to personally serve your office this Friday. I was wondering if you will be willing to accept service by email as though it was personally served on you? If not, its not a big deal, I’ll just hire an attorney service to personally serve it. Of course, if you agree to accept service by email, as though personally served, I will reciprocate in the future. Let me know. Dear Mr. Lubarsky, It was a pleasure speaking with you yesterday. Thank you for agreeing to be served with the discovery by email, as though personally served. 5- I have to examine the bill very carefully because he charged 2 times for same task. . 6- the last bill after the Substitution of Attorney there was an unearned balance in trust in the amount of $1060.87. I asked for the whole refund but I only got $163 back. I just want this review to be a warning to everyone and at the same time help them not to make the same expensive mistake I made when I hired this lawyer.

Flat fee is not flat fee

If your engagement with Lubarsky is based on flat fee, you may be surprised later, at least I was. Our flat-fee engagement covers everything up to, excluding, jury trial. But Lubarsky asked me for 2X more even for pre-trial and would not do any work that he is supposed to without additional paymen...t. Disgusting. I ended up terminating the contract with Lubarsky and hired another attorney.
