Melody Lynn Gaal

I established the Sequoia Law Firm with one objective: to advocate for the rights of consumers. Today large corporations have more power than ever before. Each day, countless individuals and businesses fall victim to a seller of goods and services, a debt collector, or another business that exploits its position to engage in deception, fraud, or other unfair practices. The Sequoia Law Firm provides its clients with the practical legal solutions they need to achieve their personal and business goals in the current economic climate.

Prior to founding the Sequoia Law Firm, I began my professional career as a trial lawyer focusing on complex commercial litigation. I have successfully represented clients in both state and federal court and have experience in all phases of litigation, from initial case investigation to appeals. I was recently selected as a “Rising Star” by Illinois Super Lawyers Magazine. I am licensed to practice law in both California and Illinois.

I graduated in the top 10% of my law school class at Chicago-Kent College of Law. While in law school, I served as a Notes and Comments Editor of the Chicago-Kent Law Review and a Vice President of the Chicago-Kent Moot Court Honor Society. I served as a legal writing teaching assistant and received numerous writing awards. I have also spent several semesters as a judicial extern in the Circuit Court of Cook County.

I was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. I attended Palo Alto High School and obtained my Bachelor’s Degree (B.S., Biology) from the University of California at San Diego. Outside of my work, I enjoy spending time with my family and hiking and camping throughout the great state of California.
