We often litigate cases few attorneys accept- jail suicides and police shootings. We put tremendous effort into winning and usually do. But expectations sometimes exceed reality given death or serious injuries since the client may not want to hear and accept the truth. If there is no one else, blame the attorney. Clients must approve any settlement offer before it can be accepted- it’s the law. If anonymous client thought a settlement was inappropriate, she should have made us aware and refused the defendant’s offer. We always use investigators if needed to develop the facts of a case.
