Julia Ann Brungess

Julia Ann Brungress has been practicing family law in the Fresno area for thirty one years, including litigating difficult family law issues. She has been a Certified Family Law Specialist/State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization since 1993. Julia is a past chair of the Fresno County Bar Association Family Law Section, is the immediate-past president of the local collaborative practice group, CVCLA, and serves onthe board of the state wide collaborative organization, Collaborative Practice California.

It was Julia’s extensive experience in the courtroom that led her to explore and adopt a forward looking family-centered means of resolving disputes facing separating couples. Her search led her to collaborative practice as it allows each party to focus on the best long-term outcome for his/her immediate and extended family members,to preserve the positive aspects of the human relationships involvedand improve the communication and cooperation between the two individuals who are transitioning from one family structure to another. Julia Ann Brungress encourages all who see separation or legal changes in their family’s future to first seek guidance from a trained collaborative professional before
engaging in damaging and destructive litigation: do not cut what can be untied.

Julia also offers mediation as another option to keep parties out of the courtroom. She facilitates issue identification, communication and problem-solving by working with the parties in a safe and constructive setting.
