Paid wish I had asked around more, his defense skills are lacking and poor performance. Not worth the dime i spent. Hired another lawyer paid less got a great trial result NOT-Guilty and the other lawyer wanted me to plea deal, glad i got another lawyer whom said he gets this complaint frequently ...do your homework and hire a more ethical and honest lawyer.

At a time when I was dealing with the stress of a move, I came across another stressor in which I needed a professional to represent me. Having been recommended by a few friends, I gave Harold a shot and was very pleased with the outcome. Not only was Harold professional, he was considerate enough to... run me through the whole process, and consoled me with what the outcomes could be. He got the charges of my alcohol related offense lowered to the point where I'll be able to have this far behind me and I could't be more appreciative! Let's face it...finding an attorney is never fun. It is usually the culmination of several negative events in one's life or a particularly stressful situation that needs to be straightened out. When you are in one of these aforementioned situations the last thing you want to deal with is the emotiona...l burden of dealing with an attorney. I am not one to normally post on review websites or yelp type interfaces. However, Harold Mesick has gone so far and above the normal duties of an attorney, that I felt it absolute necessary to come on here and share my positive experience with those in need of some guidance. Picking an attorney is difficult, and the stress of picking the appropriate attorney does not make the job any easier. Once you do finally pick your attorney, an entirely new headache begins. This headache consists of taking your already stressful situation and compounding it by chasing him/her around and making numerous phone calls to his/her office, only to be greeted by secretaries and voicemail greetings. To get a direct answer from an attorney is similar to riding a bike for the first time. At first you are not going to succeed, and even when you do finally succeed and break through, you aren't going to get any where very quickly. My review has a simple goal. I am here to tell you about my experiences in the legal system and to steer those in need, toward making the ever important decision of picking the correct attorney. An attorney is meant to represent you in what sometimes may be a low point in your life. Unfortunately, like many others before me, I am not the best metabolizer of our friend alcohol. To make a long story short, and to make sure I can fit it into this text box, let us sum up my story by saying that I got into one too many bar fights. I had previously experienced the run around from many attorneys and public defenders over the years, and I was sick and tired of it. There is a reason the second category listed for attorney attributes on these ratings is responsiveness. So I did a little research and was referred to Harold. Harold's professionalism and services were a refreshing suprise that left me in utter astonishment as to how other attorneys are still in business. Yes my friends, there is hope! There are attorneys out there that will answer your calls, be on time to your court dates, and WORK their tails off defending you! Harold showed me what a good attorney can do for you both inside and outside of the courtroom. His demeanor gave me the confidence I needed to meet my legal troubles head on, and his experience and knowledge helped get multiple violations reduced for me. Harold is a true professional in every sense of the word and I would not hesitate to send friends and family his way in their time of need. Needless to say, my legal troubles are now behind me. However, in the off chance that I ever need an attorney in the future I will know exactly where to go! In my case, Harold Mesick was able to stand up for what was right and fought for me the way no other attorney ever has.

First of all, I'm a bit taken back by the previous review from "Justin". Justin, you state this is your 2nd DUI, and the 5-7th lawyer you've worked with in the past. To me, this relieves you of all credibility. Complaining that Harold didn't help you do the necessary paperwork is a joke. Harold i...s an attorney, not your Dad. Lastly, if you were unhappy with Harold's communication, did you ever try to contact him yourself? My gut instinct is no; you're just another lazy, entitled San Luis Obispo "kid". My experience with Harold was very pleasant. Not only was Harold responsive, but his continued communication throughout my case really helped me make some important decisions. Harold also put me in contact with the right people when I wanted to go the "extra mile" and write an apology letter. I was originally charged with Battery after punching a bouncer in the head after I saw him attack my friend. The bouncer was wearing street clothes; nothing identified him as an employee of the bar or distinguished him as different from any other patron. Harold recognized this immediately and made it part of the case. Harold also did background research on some of the witnesses and was able to expose some funny-business behind the scenes. All in all, Harold's diligence and craft was able to lessen punishment quite drastically. Initially facing time, Harold was able to get me only probation and 20 AA meetings - a mere slap on the wrist if you ask me. Harold was able to get my charge from Battery to a Public Intoxication. He was also able to make sure that this charge was removed from my record after probation. Harold guided me even AFTER the case and helped me get off probation early. The charge was removed from my record right in time for a few job interviews I had planned. Just beautiful. If I ever find myself in trouble in SLO County again, Harold is my guy. WELL worth the money (and then some). Thanks again, Harold!
