You need the best. There are some things you simply cannot afford not to spend every single penny on. The top of that list would be protecting your family/children. Find a way to make it work so that you get the best counsel possible because it truly makes a world of difference in family court. I... came to Mr. Canaday with a custody situation that was malicious and truly based on parental alienation. The opposing side was trying everything they could to defame me as a parent by dredging up every blemish of my history—which admittedly wasn’t always the best. We ended up needing to go to trial as the opposing side was very manipulative. Mr. Canaday came to court with a tour-de-force performance. He was sharp, completely prepared, knew my wishes, knows all the pertinent laws without needing to be shady like some attorneys and he will absolutely defend your rights as a parent. Things may not move as quickly as you may expect but that is simply what happens when you have the best and are working toward a goal that can keep you from needing to return to court in the long-term. Nearly the entire courtroom came up to him asking for his card after seeing him argue on my behalf. After a lengthy trial, I was ultimately awarded in my, and (more importantly) my child’s best interest. He has a very concise examination style and incredible respect for the court/judicial system that always plays to your interest because your lawyer represents you! He is clearly well respected by his peers/judges and has a long history working in Bakersfield/Kern county. I spent a lot of time with Mr. Canaday and cannot recommend him with higher praise if I tried. I always felt he was honest and willing to answer my questions and fiercely negotiate on my behalf. I owe him more than money could ever re-pay for helping to protect my relationship between my child and I.

After experiencing what havoc an inexperienced and unprofessional family attorney could have on my family, I was relieved to find Mr. Canaday through a colleague referral. Not only was he generous with his time and vast professional knowledge, I felt he truly cared about the outcome of the child sup...port and custody matters he represented me in. Although family matters in court are never easy because no one ever truly wins and the children always lose in bitter feuds between parents. The "war" that was waged against me was better fought with Mr. Canaday's ethical representation in my corner.

Mr. Canaday and his staff in the office were great! He fought for over two years to help us save our grandchildren from a guardian that was not fit but was very good at acting the part. He got to the bottom of her underhanded actions through decation and perseverance. If it was not for him and his... staff our grandchildren would still be in harm's way. He stayed in constant contact with us and kept us up to date on everything. My husband and I highly recommend him for the most complex case you can have. He always was upfront and honest with us even if it was something we did not want to hear. The staff in his office are professional and on top of anything we needed. The only words I can think of to finish this review is " thank you for all you did to help us , Jim".

WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND TO MY WORST ENEMY!!! HE PUTS ON A GOOD SHOW TO GET A CLIENT, WE BELIEVED AS YOU SAID, "YOU SHOULD GET WHAT EVERY PARENT DESERVES 50/50." YET YOU LET A WOMAN WHO DIDN'T EVEN HAVE A LAWYER KICK YOUR ASS IN COURT!!! YOU DID NOTHING BUT ROB US AND LIE. THIS CROOK ALSO BAILED WITH N...O EXPLANATION JUST ADVISED HIS ASSISTANT TO ADVISE ME, I NEEDED TO RELIEVE MYSELF OR HE WOULD DO SO HIMSELF!!! JIM CANADAY IS A COWERED!!! HE NEVER EVEN FINISHED WITH OUR COURT HEARING, YET NOW STATES I OWE HIM MONEY, WHEN I PAID CASH UP FRONT FOR A FLAT RATE?!!
