Donald Norman Colvin

Donald Colvin is a practicing personal injury attorney in California’s Central Valley. He works relentlessly to protect the rights of each of his clients, regardless of their type of injury—whether it be slip and fall, dog bite, hit and run, or even wrongful death. His years of experience in personal injury have intimately acquainted him with the field and given him a distinct advantage when dealing with insurance companies and the law. Donald is a Bakersfield native and a graduate of Bakersfield High School, as well as a proud Driller alumnus. His time on the Driller football team taught him many valuable lessons, including a dedicated focus on teamwork. He went on to attend California State University, Fresno, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry. Upon graduation, he began working as a commercial real estate agent. This position taught him to listen to his clients’ needs and get them the deals they deserved. Although he enjoyed his real estate career, Donald eventually wanted to do something more fulfilling, and had a desire to help those who truly needed it. That desire led him to law school and bar licensure, and in 2008 he became a practicing lawyer in California and Nevada. He has been serving the people of California’s Central Valley ever since.

Mr. Colvin loves the Central Valley and enjoys serving and being involved with the community. He and his family love living so close to the mountains and the ocean, and have embraced the local pastimes of camping, fishing, and skiing, among many other outdoor activities. Family means everything to Donald. He can often be found at his children’s school and at associated community events. In truth, he is a big kid at heart, which naturally inclines him toward the empathy and concern for his fellow man that he brings to his law practice.

Donald’s experiences from high school to the present day inform his focus on teamwork, community, and fierce advocacy. It is important to him to meet with each client personally, and to learn about and understand their story. He never takes a case simply because he wants to have a win under his belt. Rather, he takes each case deliberately, with the intention of truly helping each client with their unique situation. He has seen firsthand how everyday people are often taken advantage of when they are most vulnerable. In his practice, he strives to do better, treating his clients as respected collaborators and consenting parties rather than passive observers.
