Can't Handle A

My experience with Nicholas Azemika was horrible. I personally met with him for my consultation and he shared stories of success in family law. I had a child custody matter that needed to be resolved. It was not complicated, but my child's mother was litigious. I felt a bit confident because op...posing counsel was not exclusively a family law attorney, he was a one-man law firm that did a little bit of everything in regards areas of specialty. During the court hearing, the opposing counsel (attorney) easily outmaneuver Nicolas' oral arguments in front of the judge. It was like Azemika is a family law attorney in general, but doesn't have the ability to handle above-average skilled attorneys that push back against them. They didn't even object when the other attorney made absurd claims. ***I literally ended up with significantly less custody as a result of Nicholas Azemika's failures. After burning through my money throughout the months, he would not take phone calls unless payments were made in full. I was a college student at the time and needed to make payments after a certain point, but they refused this option. After not being able to pay for an full retainer fee again (they wouldn't accept payments, he filed a motion with the court to drop me as a client. I absolutely regret using him to represent me. I eventually got a different attorney who immediately got me full custody (which is unusual for a man to get) and eventually a court order that allowed me to move out of the county with my child.

Mr. Kenny, Our office represented you in 2000, 25 years ago. We still remember your case. Our office obtained the custody of your child for you. After we obtained custody for you, your ex filed a motion for reconsideration or new trial. At that time, you owed us a substantial amount of money for work that we had already done on your behalf. You were not making payments on your account. Therefore, we asked you to pay your outstanding bill, if you wanted us to continue to represent you. You did not. Instead, you hired another attorney who prevailed on the motion for reconsideration, which is very easy to do. But, we are the ones who obtained the underlying custody order for you. Honestly, we can't believe that 25 years later, you are posting this dishonest review and completely lying about what we accomplished for you and why we refused to keep working for you, while you owed us thousands of dollars.

Nick is amazing

I needed a consultation regarding family law/child custody. Nick responded right away and took his time to ask me questions about my concerns without being dismissive. During our consultation, he answered each question I had, and provided clarification. Super professional and respectful. He took his ...time when looking over my paperwork. There was no pressure to provide a retainer, he really seemed to have my best interest at heart. Personally supported me not just as my lawyer but as a friend. I was scared and not knowing the process and outcome, he always said it like it was. I would leave the office at ease every time. Nick was always on top of paperwork and responded to my emails promptly. I had the best team Nick , Kim, Bridget I would hire every time again and again if needed. Thank you so much !!

Consultation

My divorce consultation went well. Mr. Azemika gave me truthful answers to my questions. He didn’t sugar coat anything & let me know, regardless, CA is a 50/50 state & that is what the end result will be. He did not lead me on about anything. He was very professional.

Mr. Nicholas Azemika could not have done any worse for me.

Because of Nicholas Azemika, it took more than three years (Mar 2010–Aug 2013) to resolve just four key assets entailed in my marriage (house, pension, vacant land, vacation hours). I lost nearly $200,000. My ex got nearly 90% of the value of the assets (82% of the community property), but she was st...ill not happy. Despite the many times I asked Mr. Azemika to consider my share in my ex’s pension, and my separate investment in real estate—in many mandatory settlement conferences that took place—he avoided doing so. His excuse: he was waiting for her to provide info on her pension and vacation hours. While he waited I consulted another attorney who was once his boss. He assured me that N Azemika is smart enough while he would also be willing “to take my money.” During oral stipulation for a settlement in Court (Sep 2011), Mr. Azemika lied to the Judge and to me about him having advised me that I should consider my ex’s pension, when in fact I was the one who finally obtained an expert appraisal at the advice of his former boss, but still he would not apply it in dollars In June 2012, I hired another attorney who changed his mind about pursuing the fraudulent non-disclosures and claims by my ex that were incorporated into a Partial Judgment. In April 2013, I became my own attorney and was able to bring the matter to resolution, but I had to live with the losses that had accumulated in order to stay in my home. In hindsight, I should have never hired an attorney; I could have settled the case in 6 months and saved both my ex and myself a lot of misery.

Great lawyer

Nick took care of me when I was going through a very tough divorce. My wife was very angry and unreasonable. She also had a very unreasonable female lawyer who was not interested in resolving the case at all. Instead, all my wife and her attorney wanted to do was keep fighting about everything, no... matter how reasonable their position was. Nick was always very responsive to all of my questions. He fought so hard for me. There were times I could see how angry he was that he had to waste his time and my money to fight on issues that should have been settled. I honestly thought that Nick fought for me on everything that was important to me. If I decided to fight on something that was small, he would talk me out of it by telling me that it would take more money to fight over that issue that it is worth. But, on most issues he fought his heart out and we won EVERYTHING. The moment you walk into the court house you KNOW that you hired one of the top guys in town. Everyone in the court house from the bailiffs, to clerks, to court reporters and judgment, they all treat Nick and his brother with so much respect. You know that these guys are well respected and liked by everyone in the courthouse, including the judges. The best decision I made in my divorce was to hire Nick Azemika.
