Mediation 100%

I mediate all types of disputes, family, workplace, business, personal injury, professional malpractice, probate, eldercare, and others. In all cases, I use "Real Mediation" in which all parties get to talk about the situation on their own terms, and in which I support the conversation, without manipulation or coercion.

Dan Simon is a master mediator

My wife and I were going through the most difficult time in our marriage and were facing the most difficult issue for us: how to raise our daughter. Dan Simon mediated our conflict and helped us get to a better place. He was totally focused and attentive to us, but never imposed his own agenda or i...nterfered with our own process as we struggled to sort things out.

"I endorse this lawyer. I took Dan's Certified Civil Mediation Training - The Transformative Approach. Dan is very knowledgeable in mediation. He is attentive to each student in the class, to build on our existing skills and challenging us to grow. With Dan's knowledge and attention I recommend his course and him as a mediator."

"In 2012, I took Dan’s 30 hour civil mediation seminars and, in 2015, I took Dan’s 40 hour family mediation seminars. While there was some overlap, I strongly recommend taking each. Both seminars, and Dan’s approach to dispute resolution, emphasize transformative mediation. Using TM, the non-partisan mediator supports the client participants by acknowledging that their concerns have been heard and understood. Doing so allows each participant to explain his or her perspective of the dispute – not so much to the mediator but, instead, to the other participant(s). Dan’s informs with knowledge and experience. The mediation process itself, the learning comes more by discovery than top-down instruction. The course materials are broad-based, understandable and interesting, as are the diverse guest lecturers that Dan includes. Complemented by instruction, much of the learning is done in small discussion groups and mock mediation sessions with students as participants and contributing observers."

"Dan Simons is not just another mediator/educator. He is among the forerunners in the Transformative approach to mediation. I was fortunate to attend one of Dan's recent 3-day workshops. The program was engaging, informative, and practical in adding to my mediation skills. Thank you Dan, for a job well done. I heartily recommend Dan's workshop as a source for extraordinary mediation training."

"Dan has been a trusted friend of mine for many years. He is an exceptional communicator and is very, very good at what he does. I highly recommend Dan, and his 30-hour civil mediation training course for anyone wanting to learn more about Dan's particular brand of mediation- it is eye-opening and has helped me in my practice"

"Dan Simon is a markedly gifted attorney-mediator. Attorney Simon is deeply respectful of all persons. Mr. Simon understands that the starting point of (potential) change is a caring and compassionate acceptance of persons just as they are right now. And, Attorney Simon understands that the first principle of healing is to do no harm. I wholeheartedly respect and endorse Dan Simon. Tricia Dwyer Esq."

Relationship: Fellow lawyer in community

"Dan is a skilled mediator, focused on supporting the needs and decision-making process of the parties concerning their dispute. The parties, rather than the mediator, direct the process, and ultimately the outcome of the mediation. In addition to providing mediation services, Dan routinely provides mediation training based upon the Transformative model. Dan would be an excellent choice for anyone seeking an alternative to the traditional legal framework for conflict resolution."

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
