She's great at what she does
Barbara, was assigned my case in June or so of 2018. She was attentive, she returned my calls, she spoke with me regarding the case and was really like a level headed friend. Barbara Lewis non responsive lawyer
Barbara Lewis is representing my daughter as a public defender. She has been non responsive to any phone calls and has answered one out of three emails. She missed my daughters last hearing so we are literally in the dark for another four months until the new hearing date. My daughter had a miscar...
This is an unfortunate review. Due to confidentiality requirements, I am unable to confer with family members regarding the details of a client's case without express consent from the client. At the point that I received such consent, I am responsive to concerned family members. The allegation of being left "four months in the dark" is inaccurate. This client was arraigned on her charges less than two months ago. I did a preliminary hearing with this client, and then I was in two different trials with other clients, who deserved my undivided attention while I was before a jury in their matters. I asked a colleague to appear on behalf of this client and request a short continuance until I concluded my trial. In no way has this client been detrimented by the representation provided. A defense attorney, contrary to popular belief, has very little to do with much of what happens to a client. For example, bail is set according to a schedule. The circumstance of the client's miscarriage are sad, but in no way is defense counsel responsible for that occurrence. Finally, I will note the inaccuracy of being "hired" by this reviewer. I am a public defender and his daughter's case was assigned to me. I am very committed to public service, and most of my clients are grateful for my help.
"I endorse Barbara Lewis as a tough criminal lawyer who really cares about her clients. I have worked in the same office with her twice as a public defender, and know that she is a meticulous and prepared advocate who has achieved many difficult trial victories, felony and misdemeanor. She is very focused and is a go getter who enjoys a good reputation in the central coast legal community."
