I was referred to Mr. O'Kennedy through the OCBA. I hired him to negotiate a stipulation with my ex-husband's attorney. I repeatedly (in writing) asked him to submit my objections to the proposed stipulation drafted by the other party. He did not, which resulted in the other party submitting it to t...he court and it became an order. Then, I asked him to proceed an object to the order as he said he thought they were still in the meet and confer process and we were not served properly. He did not return my calls or email, and now I am stuck with an order I strongly disagreed with. I'm surprised by the high reviews on here. It was terrible and a breach of his responsibility as my attorney. I would have been better off representing myself, and submitting my own objections. He took my money and caused nothing but problems.

I was from out of state and I needed a lawyer to represent me in California regarding a restraining order that was place on me and also to guide me in enforcing an out of state guardiaship order. I received excellent services. I had no idea who to call for representation . Patrick quickly responded... to my initial call. Communication was excellent. Kept in touch frequently either by phone calls or emails.I also spoke with Martha his Paralegal and she would always respond immediately answering my questions and concerns. Always sending all the necessary paperwork in a timely manner. Mr.O' Kennedy and Martha were always on top of all matters. We had another court date which he was able to ask the judge to allow me to do it over the phone rather than having to fly back to California. He went above and beyond. I hired Patrick to represent me in 2 custody cases. One was for custody and the other was for a move away. In both cases I received excellent service, communication was awesome, whether I called or e-mailed I always received a timely response. I usually called Martha his Paralegal and she would alway...s respond immediately and if she did not have an answer she would have one by end of day. I never had to wait to see what was filed, my copies were always e-mailed to me so I always knew what movement was going on in my case. - At court Patrick was on time (actually he was there early), checked us in. The first case we did not go in front of the judge as we met with the other parties attorney and hashed out all the details. Sometimes I did not know what Patrick was doing and at times was wondering but then I would see what his method was, why he did what he did, I had full confidence that he knew what he was doing, and what he was talking about and with that first case it went perfect!! The second case was a bit more difficult and I was nervous, Patrick kept calm and did his "homework" per say, There were times that I wanted to mention so many things to the judge and did not know why Patrick wasn't, but again he had his strategy and kept it simple and to the point and got the results wanted. And once again my full confidence was in him. When you are discussing your kids, it's important to feel that your attorney knows what they are doing, after all they are fighting for your precious kids. And I truly feel that this attorney went above and beyond!!! I don't ever need to shop for another attorney, I've found MY family law attorney.
