Amazing Job!

Mo did an amazing job representing me in my CPS case! I'm glad I had Mo as my lawyer!

Posted by Diane | April 29, 2023 | Hired Attorney | DUI & DWI

Best DUI lawyer

Mo is hands down the best attorney I've ever worked with. I had a DUI case and was looking for a trial lawyer to fight my case. Mo knows what he's doing and in court he stands out amongst the other lawyers. He is compassionate and has great communication skills. Not only is Mo a good person but he's ...a great attorney. I highly recommend him to anyone who needs a DUI lawyer.

BEST CPS LAWYER

I was involved in a domestic violence incident in San Bernardino County. The allegations lead to a child endangerment criminal case which lead to a CPS case / juvenile dependency case even though I was the victim! I called Mo and he was ready to fight for me with no hesitation. He was trial ready a...nd experienced which is why he is able to get both my criminal case and my CPS case resolved.

DUI Case

I hired Mo for a 2nd DUI and a Violation of Probation case in San Bernardino County. He had great reviews online and he was very nice when I spoke to him so I decided to move forward with him. Everything they say about this man is true! He is a very hard worker, he knows the laws, and he has excelle...nt communication skills. He is a master of his craft and truly stands out from the rest. I felt bad for everyone else in court that had a lawyer that wasn’t Mo. Hiring him made all the difference in my case. Highly recommend.

Very troubling Representation / lack of transparency, ethics, moral uprightness

We had retained attorney Mohammad Abuershaid for a case of false-allegations being brought by an ex-spouse & as client unfamiliar with CPS & Juvenile court system, we relied fully on him for guidance; placed our complete trust in him—trust that, in our experience was not honored. Our experience was v...ery troubling. We felt our concerns were neither heard nor addressed, we believe critical evidence was not presented in courtroom, which could have significantly altered outcome of case. Requests to introduce evidence were met with resistance & we were repeatedly asked not to discuss opposing party. Attempts to clarify or advocate for ourselves were met with agitation. Soon, it became clear that a trial was not being pursued by attorney Mohammad. Social workers were not cross-examined; testimonies of key professionals & witnesses were not brought to court. We felt that due to lack of a Trial, false-allegations on us went unchallenged & sustained. We were not informed of settlement details & implications of legal decisions. We later discovered that actual Custody was relinquished without our explicit consent, at the beginning, undermining the purpose of retaining legal counsel. Jurisdiction hearing proceeded uncontested without our understanding that it would be uncontested. Despite this we were charged for a full trial $49,500 & we were required to pay $24,750 in one hour as down-payment. His rate was $1250 per hour, significantly higher than industry norms. We also felt that during such a vulnerable time, we struggled w/thought of being taken advantage of. We felt that his representation did not reflect claims made on his website regarding strong trial advocacy and parental rights. It appears that remainder of the case was just procedural to justify his billable hours, rather than strategic: Given that CPS cases rely heavily on evidence-not argument-it seemed outcome was not going to change ; we felt case was effectively lost at onset. We were not informed about appeals process for initial 2 hearings, nor were we provided w/ essential court-filed documents from his office, except for social-worker reports. Communication was inconsistent with most emails unanswered or handled only by phone without written record. We had to follow up often just to receive basic information about our case & our child. After the full Flat Fee were collected two additional charges made to our card on file without prior consent; they were later reversed, but it added to our concerns. We came to know that when CPS allegations sustain, it inevitably automatically triggers CACI process; After it did, attorney Mohammad told us that he does not handle CACI, yet he never disclosed this at time of retaining, despite advertising extensive CPS experience. We also became uncertain about the credibility of some of his online reviews, as aspects of them seemed unusual to us ; for instance appearing to be from staff-Intern or containing identical stories or posted simultaneously by different supposed clients; although this was our subjective impression; One review on AVVO posted on April 3rd , 2025 had same story of "Janelle leaving for a job & Cara taking over in’, as on AVVO review posted on Dec 27, 2024 . After we ended his representation of our case, we did not receive a refund for unused portion of flat fee, which we were told would cover case until its conclusion. The representation had profound emotional, familial & financial impact on us. Since outcome was not in our favor, it left us in a more challenging situation than before his legal assistance. We recommend considering public defender in CPS cases, unless a client has a trusting relationship with an attorney. Our case-file (w/court-transcripts) was later reviewed by several legal professionals, many of whom expressed serious concerns about his handling of case. We shared our concerns with California State Bar.

Thank you for sharing your perspective. We understand how emotionally difficult and stressful dependency and CPS matters can be, and we do not minimize the impact these proceedings have on families. That said, this review does not accurately reflect the scope or substance of the legal work performed in this matter. Our firm devoted substantial time and resources to this case, including extensive case preparation, court appearances, review of records, strategic discussions, and ongoing advocacy within the procedural framework of the juvenile court system. Many decisions in CPS matters are dictated by statutory timelines, court practices, and agency procedures, rather than by trial strategy alone. We respectfully disagree with the characterization that the case was not actively handled or that services were not rendered as agreed. The legal work performed in this matter far exceeded what is suggested in this review. Because of client confidentiality obligations, we are unable to address specific allegations or case details in a public forum. However, we remain confident that the representation provided was appropriate, diligent, and consistent with professional standards. We appreciate the opportunity to clarify this for readers and wish the reviewer and their family the best moving forward.
