great lawyer

My ex was impossible to deal with as was his attorney. Nothing was ever simple with them - always an expensive run around to end up with the same result that could have been achieved in 1/2 the time and 1/2 the money. Jack Nelson would not charge me for unnecessary work he had to do as a result of ...my ex and his attorney's lack of cooperation, etc. I was never charged for copies, court parking fees, fax charges, or short phone calls. I certainly appreciated that consideration. The office is busy but I did receive a return call or email or text within 24 hours. That is acceptable to me as I don't expect I was their only client and I'm sure everyone else had questions, etc. and wanted return calls, texts, emails, etc. The man was amazing in a courtroom, well liked by everyone at Court, knowledgeable in the law and reasonable in returning calls, etc. Yes, there were delays at times in getting a return call but they were not often and his staff would usually take care of his reminder. Staff is very knowledgeable and can resolve many problems or answer many questions themselves. Very satisfied and I would recommend to anyone.

Going thru a Divorce.

I am a bit surprised by a review I read regarding Mr. Nelson as an attorney. The office is small and busy. The Attorney is very very knowledgeable and his Court demeanor is untouchable. I note that Court staff, Baillif's, other counsel and Judge's often stop to say hello, talk about a case or make... a joking remark, etc. It is very obvious that this attorney is very well liked and very well respected in the legal community. He does often return calls the following day or by text or by email but if he is unable to pick up a phone and call back - he does respond by other means. I personally prefer emails as they can be sent/received at any time of day or evening and usually go to an individuals phone. I am very pleased with the service received by Mr. Nelson's office but I do wish the Court system were more efficient in getting matters thru the system faster.

Do NOT recommend this lawyer

Does not return calls, emails etc. Made countless errors when writing final orders after hearing that cost me time with my child. When I brought the error to his attention he denied that his interpretation of the order was incorrect. I finally had to pull the court transcript myself and show him h...is mistake, only then did he write a stipulation to correct his error with my custodial time. Does not follow through with client concerns. I felt like his was working for my ex-husband and not me. Child custody battles are painful, this attorney only made matters worse.

This lawyer is not very responsive or respectful of their client. No return calls or follow through with clients requests.

I received a bum reference to work with this attorney. He never returns your calls, uses text messages to deliver negative information. He doesn't respond to clients requests. I did not have a very good experience with this guy.
