Lai Matthews is a wife and a mom to a happy and active little boy. A later-in-life attorney, she chose a path that allowed her to be available (physically and emotionally) for her son as much as possible after he was born (She did not know what she was in for!).

She opened her Estate Planning Practice with moms, dads kids, grandparents foremost on her mind and helped them to do what’s best for their families and to navigate the often complicated laws relating to Estate Planning. She believes that ultimately we can not control everything in life, but we should, to the extent possible, do what we can to ensure the best for our loved ones.

Lai has a background in the health care insurance industry and is also a licensed Registered Nurse. She is a graduate of Western State University College of Law where she was a Dean’s Merit Scholarship recipient. She is admitted to the State Bar of California and is an active member of Wealth Counsel, a community of more than 3,600 professionals across the country who are leading their estate planning practices to new levels of excellence.

As an immigrant, she is sensitive to the Estate Planning needs of families in the U.S. who may not have extended family living nearby and who may have their closest connections in foreign countries. She also speaks Tagalog.
