Hiring Adam Kocaj is an active danger to your legal and financial well-being; he operates with a complete disregard for professional ethics and responds to his own administrative failures with malicious threats. His legal practice is defined by gross negligence, retaliatory conduct, and a dangerous t...endency to weaponize his law license to shield himself from professional accountability. He routinely ignored valid, documented evidence regarding my case, choosing only to react when he felt his "authority" as an attorney was being questioned. He sends abusive, harassing, and baseless threats to his clients when he is called out for his negligence. Instead of doing the work, he tries to force clients into blind submission so he doesn't have to account for his own incompetence and lack of credibility. His conduct was so grossly unprofessional that I had to file a formal grievance with the State Bar of California just to hold him accountable.  I hired Adam for a severe toxic tort case that left me with severe documented medical conditions. Instead of looking at objective medical records and lab results from accredited hospitals, he completely ignored them and minimized my bodily injury claim to zero. When I applied for vital medical funding to avoid further harm and get treatment, his office actively sabotaged my application. I received written proof from the underwriter stating Adam's office provided zero medicals and submitted my severe toxic exposure claim as a basic property damage claim. If an attorney is so incompetent that they cannot even organize and support evidence to secure a medical funding lien for a client's treatment, there is absolutely no way they would be successful arguing a case in front of a jury or defending a client in a deposition.  When he wasn't suppressing my evidence, he was mismanaging the court docket. He filed an Amended Complaint without my approval and without letting me review the facts. When I demanded to see what he submitted, he blamed court processing delays and refused to even provide the un-stamped PDF draft he uploaded to the portal. He then bizarrely claimed he could "cancel" the filing, hiding the actual legal document from his own client.  The moment I held him accountable with written proof of his failures, he tucked his tail and quit, abandoning my case right before a pre-planned vacation. I also had to deescalate the situation multiple times since he is so immature that he cannot control his bad temper, primarily sending emails that were condescending, extremely unprofessional, and rude. He weaponized "withdrawal" as a tool to threaten me while neglecting to address the actual case facts.  Adam is by far the most out of touch and unprofessional business owner I've dealt with. If you want someone to ruin your case and your personal peace, Adam is your guy. Avoid Kocaj Law at all costs.
