I’ve just completed the OVDP process. Sean was a tremendous help to me through the entire, complicated procedure. Sean provided expert advice where things were particularly difficult. He is highly experienced with this sort of work and has an excellent knowledge of both US and Australian tax laws.... Sean used this knowledge to negotiate with the IRS a substantially reduced penalty that I had to pay. Sean was always reassuring through our multiple phone conferences and emails. Having left the US over two decades ago, I was unaware of my filing obligations both in terms of income tax and FATCA and that I was unintentionally non-compliant. Worried, confused and panicked about FATCA/FBAR with a letter from a bank stating that the IRS will be notified about an account that I’m only the “custodian” (elderly foreign national mother), I run some Google searches in order to get some direction of what to do.
