Biography
Kim was raised in Santa Barbara, graduating from San Marcos High School in 1986. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from UCLA in 1991. She attended Santa Barbara College of Law, where she earned awards for achieving the highest grade in her Evidence, Remedies, Contracts and Civil Procedure classes. In 1996, Kim graduated number 5 in her class and earned her Juris Doctor. She passed the California Bar Exam and was admitted to practice law in 1996.
Kim worked for a Santa Barbara Superior Court Judge for nearly three years, gaining invaluable insight into the criminal justice system. She also worked as a Deputy Public Defender in Santa Barbara . Kim has a good working relationship with the prosecutors in the Santa Barbara office.
As an experienced trial attorney, Kim has represented clients charged with misdemeanors and felonies, such as DUI, minor in possession, drunk in public, drug offenses, domestic violence, sex crimes and violation of probation, etc.
