All three clients are college students and passengers inside a car that was pulled over speeding. After the stop, officer smelled marijuana. Driver consented to search and after marijuana was found, dr ... iver said the marijuana belonged to everybody and then officer cited everybody with a marijuana ticket. The passengers then hire our office because they don't want a marijuana ticket on their record. Fred Thiagarajah requested a traffic trial in this matter. Officer showed up today for the trial and testified that all the passengers admitted the marijuana belonged to the group. Even though the officer testified, the court still granted Fred Thiagarajah's motion to dismiss for all passengers.

Girlfriend told police that client had strangled her multiple times, grabbed her by the neck and shook her, forced his knee into her head an ... d covered her mouth to prevent her from screaming. Police examined girlfriend and found bruising on her neck and biceps. Client had fled the scene prior to police arriving. Client originally had another attorney who told client that the best offer he could get from the DA's office was for client to plead guilty and receive 90 days jail. We set the case for trial and the DA ultimately dismissed the case.

Client, a juvenile, and his two friends accosted a 59-year old victim on the street. They demanded his car keys and beat him up when the victim refused. The victim was eventually taken to the hospital ... for fractured eye orbital and jaw. The client and his friends stole the victim's car to pick up girls to party. DA's office asked the court to incarcerate defendants for at least 18 months; Victim came to court and asked judge for the same thing. Fred Thiagarajah convinced judge to sentence his client to 45 days jail and 45 days house arrest.
