Douglas Robert Luther

I began my career at both large law firms and boutique litigation practices, where I represented a wide range of clients—from billionaires and celebrities to Fortune 500 companies. As lead counsel and as part of trial teams, I secured verdicts, pre-trial judgments, and settlements exceeding $20 million on behalf of plaintiffs. During this time, I also gained extensive experience in franchise law, representing both franchisors and franchisees, and serving as Chair of the California Lawyers Association’s Franchise Law Committee.

I later joined Amada Senior Care as General Counsel, where I guided the company through its rapid growth as a national franchise brand. After my time at Amada, I founded Luther Lanard, PC with the mission of building a boutique law firm dedicated exclusively to representing franchisees nationwide.

This combination of big law, boutique litigation, in-house counsel, and entrepreneurial experience has given me a comprehensive perspective on the challenges franchisees face. Today, I use that background to help franchise owners resolve disputes, negotiate deals, and protect their investments.
