I interviewed several Estate Attorneys over the phone and felt most comfortable with B.J. for a variety of reasons, including; fees, demeanor, personality, reviews and gut instinct. If you're like me, the thought of dealing with any attorney is akin to buying a used car, you just hope for the best wi...th minimum time expended. B.J. was a pleasant surprise, here's why; She will gladly come to your home:o, she was always on time, she communicated frequently and I never needed to call and bug her, she does a lot of heavy lifting on charities, like getting you in touch with ones that suit your gift goals, provides contact names, did initial research, even provided literature from some, her fee is comprehensive and includes accompanying you to your financial institutions to change ownership or POD to your new trust if necessary, she makes no excuses and in fact made a small error and covered the cost herself, she DOES NOT nickel and dime you, her inclusive fee included every document I needed down to instruction for my pets. At the end of our collaboration, I felt like I had made a new, trustworthy friend that would be there should I require her professional expertise at some time in the future. The bottom line, I would recommend B.J. without reservation. P. S. I gave B.J. a 4 out of 5 on knowledge only because I was not in a position to evaluate her complete subject matter skills for this attribute.

Excellent Attorney! I was the real estate agent for client's of Bettyjane (we called her 'BJ') and represented BJ's clients in the sale of a home belonging to the trust. The trustees were two young women (daughters of deceased parents) who were out of town and inexperienced in selling homes and deali...ng with trusts...and were constantly being threatened by a sibling beneficiary (isn't there always one of those?). BJ was ALWAYS there to help guide them and helped them feel comfortable with the decisions being made. For me, BJ was always available and the few times I wasn't able to contact her, I quickly received a call back. Her demeanor was always professional, and confident and appeared to be very knowledgeable about trusts and estates. I very much would recommend her services.

BJ Champlin has consistently provided me with timely, first rate legal service at very reasonable rates. I would not hesitate to recommend BJ. She has always proved to be reliable and most importantly, of utmost integrity. I would not consider going to anyone else for my trust and estate services. Sh...e has also performed real estate legal services for me. When BJ set up my trust, it was a rather complicated affair, requiring detailed coordination with my CFA at Stifel Nicolaus and later incorporation of real property acquisition in a manner which ensured proper passing of my assets to my wife and step daughter upon my own passing. BJ performed flawlessly, continually keeping me abreast of developments as they occurred, patiently explaining options in clear, concise language which was easy to understand. She was always easy to contact, prompt in returning phone calls and emails, never too busy to give me her attention when I needed to speak with her, always willing to answer my questions, listen to my suggestions. In my experience, you really can't buy this kind of responsiveness, you can only count yourself exceedingly lucky if you happen to stumble across it. And if you then happen to combine it with an exceptional level of competence and dedication, well, you've just hit the jackpot. That's how I feel about BJ. Except when I look at her bill, it feels like I've been shopping at Walmart. It doesn't seem fair. What can I say?
