James Doan and his family's law group were recommended to me when we needed a bankruptcy attorney, and I'm glad we went with the recommendation. They were professional, thorough, and did everything they said they would do for the reasonable price I was quoted. Even 1 1/2 years after the bankruptcy ...was discharged and I had a problem with one of my discharged debts they still went to bat for us and took care of the problem. Mr. Doan and his team were very helpful in putting me at ease after I decided to file bankruptcy. I am 70+ yrs old, and had been raised to not put yourself in debt beyond what you could payback. For me, this was an embarrassing situation, and one in which i had never thought I would be placed in my e...ntire life. I had moved from KS the previous year, where I had lived the past 13 years. I owned a beautiful Victorian home there, and my husband of 40 years had died 2 years before. I lived alone. My family all lived in SoCal. I put my house up for sale, unfortunately, not many people in KS wanted a home like mine. It sat on the market for 2 yrs, while I still had to pay all the usual expenses on it. The climate is harsh on an old home that is not taken care of on a regular basis. The house, and 4-lot property soon started to fall in disrepair. I started spending more money on the repairs, while dropping the price of the property. Eventually, it did sell. However, I was deep in debt, and actually lost money on the sale of the property. I didn't have a clue as what I was going to do. At the suggestion of my daughter, who had used the Doan Law Group when her husband lost his job at McDonald-Douglas during the Boeing buyout, I contacted them, and got an appointment with their office in Moreno Valley. I met with Jim to discuss my case. He immediately made me feel at ease about my situation, and reassured me that there was nothing to be embarrassed about. I filled out the paperwork with the help of my daughter, who had already been through this. In a few weeks time, I had a court date. I met one of the other attorneys at the room I was told to report to at Riverside County courthouse. I was very nervous, and I think he knew I was, because he commented that bankruptcy had even been provided for in Biblical times when creditors forgave all debts every 7 years. The way he stated it, made me chuckle. It helped put me at ease, so when I sat down in front of the judge to swear that my statements were true, I was completely confident in myself. I would highly recommend the Doan Law Group. I only saw each of the attorneys once, but also spoke to Jim Doan on the phone. Marisol, Jim's assistant, was always available to assist me, even if it was a simple question. None of the staff ever made me feel like I was just a case number. They were always personable, and genuinely interested in my concerns. They helped make a highly stressful situation manageable. I am very grateful to each one for their professionalism, and humanity. I can now live the rest of my life without this stressful burden.

I do not believe anyone wants to enter bankruptcy, but there are circumstances that leave few other choices.
