Unprofessional

He said he would get me the maximum he can get me out of my settlement. Then ended up settling for the least he was demanding from them. Him nor his staff answered any of my calls. He gave me the break down of the amount I was supposed to get and it was less than what I should have of received and en...ded up incorrect.

Thank you for your review. Unfortunately, you have lied and that is a criminal offense, called defamation. A work comp attorney does not settle a work comp case. Only the client can settle the case, by signing settlement documents. The attorney does "settle" the case, the client does, in this case YOU. Your accusation that I am purposely settling your case for less than we could have gotten you is extremely ignorant; 1. An attorney is not going to recommend a settlement to you for less than the maximum that can be gotten, since the attorney gets a percentage of the settlement, and 2. No one gets what they ask for! Negotiation school 101 teaches you ask for more than you can get. So actually, this shows I did a terrific job in starting the negotiations high. This is what we all want our attorneys to do for us; shoot high! If you think there is a discrepancy in the settlement breakdown we provided you, you should reach out for an explanation and to see if we made a mistake. It can happen. A number can be typed incorrectly. We are not perfect and always admit any mistakes and correct them. Why don't you reveal your name to the world so we can look into your case and set the record straight? Or do you want to remain anonymous because you know you are lying? This is very cowardly, in my opinion. Finally, we answer calls as necessary but most of the time we just text our clients since this is what they prefer. We have an App that allows all our clients to text us with any questions or concerns. We are the only firm with the Case status app in Southern California. Our clients love the App with the 24/7 updates, texting ability, and they are never in the dark about where the case is in the process and the next steps. We are proud of our commitment to our clients and especially our dedication to excellent client communications. The proof is in the App we have developed at great expense to us, but free to our beloved clients.

Professional misconduct

This lawyer was disciplined by a state licensing authority in 2015.

Discipline, Probation; no Actual Suspension issued in CA, 2015

updated on 05/05/2016

This sanction means the attorney had a suspension placed on hold (and ultimately removed) by complying with certain requirements.

Gary’s comment:

“Client moved to Sacramento area and wanted a local attorney. A substitution of attorney was sent to client to sign and return. Client never returned the substitution of attorney. our office inadvertently indicated her case was closed in our database. Therefore we did not respond to a Petitin to dismiss her case. Case was dismissed without prejudice and we are reinstating her case with no adverse affect to client. Client has requested that we continue to represent her.”

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline
