also known as Shadi Ala'i Shaffer, Shadi Alai
Shadi completed her B.A. in Political Science at the beautiful University of Santa Barbara California. She continued her studies abroad where she lived in Spain for a year while completing her M.A. in Law & Society and completed her J.D. degree in San Diego, California in 2001.
Shadi has had a variety of work experience from managing a designer boutique, being a bank teller, holding a variety of sales positions, to owning her own mortgage company. Along with a vast work history, she has been blessed to travel to distant places from Europe to Israel, to living in the Baltics; her ability to connect and interact with individuals across many borders, faith, and socioeconomic levels adds to her practice as an attorney.
Shadi represented the underserved in San Diego at the Employee Rights Center. Thereafter, she joined the Landau Law Group where she defended numerous injury, premises liability, and general civil litigation cases representing clients such as The Hyatt Regency and The Radisson Hotel to name a few. Two years later having established herself as an attorney, she created her own practice and has since joined forces with Patrick P. Phancao in an effort to build a proud and distinguished law practice.
Currently, the firm receives business primarily through referrals which shows the committed and quality representation the two partners provide to their clients and strive to build upon in their firm.
Attorney Shaffer focuses on Estate Planning, Trusts, Probate, Trust Administration which has proven tremendously successful in its early stages of growth. Her firm also practices in the areas of Medical Planning and Asset Protection.

Fantastic Estate Planning Attorney!
My wife Rita and I had our first set of estate planning documents done back in 2008. So, in 2018, with several changes to our family, we decided it was time to renew our estate planning documents including our wills, power of attorney, setting up of a trust, and our health care directives. We searc...

Estate Planning
Shadi made my estate planning so much easier than I had thought it would be. Not only is she a professional at what she does but she is also very kind and thoughtful. She gives the full picture so that there are no surprises and provides knowledge that you may not even have thought of. I highly recom...

Excellent Estate Planning Attorney
Doing a Trust was on my list and I just got it done by Shadi. It was such a pleasant experience. I am so glad my family recommended her to me. Shadi Shaffer was very thorough and easy to work with and made the process easy. Her staff is great and are there if you have any concerns or questions. I am ...

Caring and amazingly competent
The truth is that I had been postponing the weighty task of estate planning for YEARS. Why? Who knows; the usual reasons, no doubt. When I finally mustered the courage to initiate contact with Shadi, not only were my fears allayed, but I was soon kicking myself (metaphorically) for not having atte...
"I endorse this lawyer. She and her partner are careful and conscientious in their work, coming up with creative solutions for clients who - without even knowing it - need someone who thinks "outside the box." I am confident recommending Shadi and her firm to anyone who needs estate planning (and who doesn't?) from the simplest to most complex situations. For those who already have an estate plan, I recommend Shadi for a "tune-up" of their current plan. She's truly obsessive about making sure her clients get the best possible outcome in their planning."
"Shadi is simply the best attorney you can ask for when it comes to estate planning. She is passionate about helping clients plan intelligently for their financial future. This is especially true for young families. I've been practicing law for 22 years and Shadi is the person I would turn to for help with estate planning."
"If I had to turn to an attorney for a crucial matter, I would think of no one else than Mrs. Shadi Alai Shaffer. I have witnessed Mrs. Shaffer at work for years, and her commitment to her clients is relentless. She is known in the community as the "easy going, and easy to understand" lawyer, however she is anything but when representing her clients' s interests. Mrs. Shaffer is very involved with her local community, and is very giving of her time. She continues to be an inspiration to the people that come across her, and is a pleasure to work with. I recommend this attorney without reservation."
"I endorse this lawyer because of her affable and focused nature when she appeared before me in a court mediation matter. Many attorneys cross my path as a mediator, but Ms. Shaffer's unusual level of flexibility and creativity ultimately served her client's best interests."
"“I have been a practicing lawyer for over 15 years and I am not easily "wowed" by fellow lawyers. I can count three times in my career, including today. A good lawyer will tell you never to represent yourself. Although I consider Estate Planning to be a component of my practice, when it came time to do the Alexander Family Trust, I wanted someone else to do it. Shadi told me that she wanted to do it. I was "wowed" by the quality of her work product and the enthusiasm she conveyed in explaining everything. I sleep better knowing that if anything happens to me, my affairs are in order. For that Shadi...I thank you!”"
