Orlando James Arellano

An employment law and class action litigator for more than ten years, Orlando Arellano is an associate in the Irvine office of Berger Kahn primarily advocating for employees and consumers in actions involving wage and hour, discrimination, harassment, and wrongful termination claims.

In his practice, Orlando most notably received commendation from the City of Lancaster for litigating the Summer York v. Starbucks Corporation case with a $3M Settlement. In addition, he wrote the victorious opposition to the motion to compel arbitration in Brown v. Ralphs Grocery Co., and has written numerous successful motions for class certifications including those in Iskanian v. CLS Transportation Los Angeles, Myart v. Autozone, Yousefian v. 21st Century Insurance, Delgado v. New Albertson’s Inc., and Mares v. BFS Retail & Commercial Operation.

With a track record for having a presence at the courtroom and at the negotiating table, Orlando has successfully settled dozens of cases recovering tens of millions of dollars. Recently, he has defended large, back-to-back, summary judgments motions in a harassment action that was later settled, and he has taken and defended numerous depositions across the state, including expert witness and person most knowledgeable depositions.

His thorough and meticulous attention to detail has enabled Orlando to litigate class actions from inception until conclusion, be responsible for all aspects of litigation including pleadings, heavy motion practice, hearings, depositions, negotiations, and mediations.

Before joining Berger Kahn, Orlando was Senior Counsel at Capstone Law APC, where his practice focused on employment, class actions, and litigation. A resident of Orange County, Orlando is a car-racing enthusiast, and enjoys following his favorite soccer team, Manchester United.
