Working with Marin

Marin helped me get 4 trrademarks and a patent. First he explained the process of obtaining trademarks and patents. Then he setup a roadmap to follow and explained the possible road blocks and how to handle each objective. Very easy to work with and patient the language used by the government can ...be confusing to a lay person. Marin will explain exactly what it means and put your mind at ease. He knows the USPTO system and he will help you navigate through it. I would highly recommend Marin and look forward to working with him again!

Bad Attorney for Trademark Litigation

I hired Mr. Cionca on a trademark litigation matter and although he is a nice attorney it is my opinion that he did a poor job on my case. He was not aggressive enough in my litigation case and failed to properly obtain necessary evidence during discovery that would have helped me prove my case at t...rial. He either chose not to do so or didn't know how to do it, either way i cannot endorse this lawyer for litigation matters.

This is inaccurate, and thus, unfair. First, it implies that I represented the client to the end of the case and he lost. Not true. Secondly, it suggests that I was allowed to complete the discovery. Not true. Third, it implies that a trial had taken place and he lost when in fact court's record appear to show that the parties were recently involved in several rounds of unsuccessful settlement negotiations and the case continues. The reality is that the client chose to hire a different lawyer, I guess now, a more "aggressive" one, in the middle of the discovery. I assume the "aggressive" way with the other lawyer does not work very well , and the client is upset. I understand. However, the assigning of the blame is misplaced in my view. My steady winning approach is based on good facts, good law and good arguments. The judge agreed with me on many occasions and the case was going well before client decided to switch in the middle of the case. I still wish that things turn around and the client wins in the end. I know he is a small business owner and he needs a win. I wish I had the chance to contribute to it.

Awesome Job!

I highly recommend Marin to anyone who wants to file a patent. I had a little trouble understanding Marin at first, so I wasn't sure, but once we started, I was very impressed by his work. He has a very precise knowledge of patent law. He was helpful in describing the process and making sure that ...we got all the details right. He did all the work in a timely manner. He did the drawings, the detailed descriptions, the claims and everything else. He carefully explained everything to me, so I fully understood how the claims worked, etc. I really appreciated the work he put into it because with a lot of others, they only do the minimum, but charge a lot more. Marin is very fair and reasonable in his billing. I intend to use him for all of my intellectual property work in the future.
