Anita Alexandra Kay

I was arrested for domestic violence and was referred to Ms. Kay by a family friend. I met with Ms. Kay and she was the only attorney (out of several I consulted) who told me NOT to hire her or anyone else at that time. She said domestic violence cases are often hard to prove and based on my versio...n of events she thought the DA would reject the case for what she said sounded like "mutual combat." It was refreshing to hear an attorney telling me not to spend thousands of dollars on legal fees. Ms. Kay even offered to contact the DA's office FREE OF CHARGE to follow up on my case to see if the DA filed charges. Ms. Kay called me back a few days later and told me the DA rejected the case because there was not enough evidence to prosecute me. Ms. Kay never charged me a dime. I am also a practicing physician in OC, and when I was arrested the medical board found out about it. Ms. Kay's firm also has an attorney who works with the medical board so I consulted with Courtney Pilchman about the notice I received from the medical board. Courtney spoke to me in her office and reviewed my police reports (which I had to have my wife get from the Irvine Police Department). She offered to contact the investigator and try and get the board to close out their investigation because no criminal charges were filed. Again, she DID NOT charge me for the meeting or the contact with the investigator. Once Courtney explained the facts to the investigator and provided a letter from the DA's office, the investigator sent me a letter saying the investigation was closed. I never had to sit for an interview with the medical board. This was a huge relief! This was a terrible time for, having been arrested and fearing my career was going to be in jeopardy.
