Over Promised, Under Delivered

My son is fighting a life case, out of fear and desperation I hired Ms. Bond even knowing that she has only had her license for a few years because when I spoke with her she told me all the things I wanted to hear. She is our second hired attorney, I hired another woman for the preliminary, that was... a horrible experience as well. When I met with Bond, I was very clear on what we were looking for in a new attorney, communication for my son has no bail, sitting in custody and the last attorney never went to see him, anxiety was unbearable. She assured me that her and her team with her PI will do weekly visits, communicate with the family. The first 6 weeks was quiet, I understood they had to read the discovery and become familiar with the case. After 6 weeks, still no visits with son, no update as to what the defense would be, or even what they have been doing to prepare other than still going through the disvcovery. She has been in a double homicide, which has all her attention. I understand, however at the time of hire she was asked can she take on a case that there is no time waiver for my son wants to take this to trial right away, her response was yes. I believe she over promised, was not able to my son case the attention that she agreed. The more I reminded her of this, for she has not gone to see my son, court calls are not being honered in jail, she gave my son time frames to call her that he could not do, due to being in jail and not having access to the phone. There was no phone contact, she became nasty, told me she does not tap dance for anyone, she is not going to run to the jail to just make my son feel good. Very different conversation from when we hired her. I like to think it wasn’t intentinal, just time management, either way it was not what we verbally agreed on, and it was not the understaining that was discussed at the time of hire. I terminated the relationship, hired a new attorney that could give us our needs, where I was blessed to of found! Praise God, now I still wait for the accounting from Ms. Bond, to get remainder of the $56,000 that I paid upfront. My new attorney is still waiting for the file to be transferred, 7 days later, creating a delay for the new attorney to begin working on the file. Again her time management, lack of attention to my sons case continues to create delays and harm . I just want to move forward. I will write a second review after receiving the final bill. I will be checking for her integrity, hope she is honest in her billing, That will be when I give my final assessment if she is just a low intergriy person and that is why she behaves this way, or if its just because of time management . Either way, harm is still there. For the families that don’t have the money to hire second attorney while they wait for the first attorney to take there sweet time to get files transferred and do accounting to return funds, that would be horrific. I am grateful I have the resources to get through this, that wasn’t our case, or we would be so screwed. Becareful who you hire, get everything in writing , that is another area I will take responsibility for. For I did not get her verbal commitment in writing. Lesson learned. Her PI, he also would say he is going to see my son, then doesn’t. Tells me he had trial. This has been both of there consistent response to failing to follow through. I will end this with , We did not experience compassion nor tailored support. that she advertised. The response I got from Ms. Bond was, her words. “ I don’t tap dance for no one “ as I requested over and over that someone goes visit my son. She kept saying I am in trial, when my time allows I will see him. If there are updates I will give them. The update can be, what are you doing in that 3 months to prepare my sons defense. Felt like we were begging for a favor, rather than being provided a service that we paid $56,000 for.

Royal is God sent! If you're looking for an attorney who is passionate about her work, then she's your go to. I have had to fire previous attorneys because they all seem to be in it for just the money and I never felt like they truly cared about me as an individual. Especially when you're fighting a ...criminal case and could be expected to serve time in prison. They all just want money and sell you a bunch of false hopes. But not Royal Bond. She took the time to know me and actually care about my freedom. She always showed up to court and always communicated before and after. See also kept me in the knowing with every decision she made regarding my case before she did it. Thanks to her I'm free from incarceration and I would only ever recommend her to others now. She's the true meaning of an attorney who fights for justice not money.

Unprofessional and Ineffective – Avoid Attorney Royal Bond

I retained Ms. Royal Bond for a wrongful death, elder financial abuse, and medical malpractice suit on a contingency basis. Her performance has been extremely disappointing. She failed to properly dismiss a probate case, resulting in unnecessary costs and delays. Despite promises to file a motion to ...dismiss, she never did. In another case, she mishandled a related complaint, leading to a stay of proceedings due to her failure to transfer the probate case first. Her repeated requests for additional funds and retainers contradicted our contingency agreement. In the third case, she vacated a demurrer under pressure without adequate explanation. Her court appearances were marked by unpreparedness and indecisiveness, causing further delays. Communication was abysmal, with incomplete documents provided after numerous requests. Additionally, she began representing another party without a retainer agreement or conflict waiver, raising serious ethical concerns. Ms. Bond’s incompetence and unprofessional behavior have significantly harmed my cases. I strongly advise against retaining Ms. Royal Bond for any legal matters.
