Kenneth Jay Kahn

I paid Mr. Kahn and his equally incompetent partner Stephen Rodriquez $25,000 to represent me against three charges of making criminal threats. I got very little bang for my buck in terms of adequate legal representation. He promised a lot but delivered practically nothing. He waived a lot of time ...and postponed/rescheduled many court dates for no good reason other than to charge me legal fees. I asked him repeatedly for a retainer agreement showing specifics like the hourly fee I would be billed and he never provided it. I asked him repeatedly for copies of my case documents and to this day I still haven't received anything. Mr. Kahn violated my attorney-client privilege by discussing the specifics of an official visit with my neighbor without permission. Once Mr. Kahn and his partner just showed up at the county jail and said they were in the neighborhood but had nothing new to tell me about my case. He once reset my court date for 9 weeks out and I didn't hear from him for two months not a word. Mr. Kahn never answered his phone when I called from jail and he never even gave me his business card. He seemed to be suffering from dementia because every visit seemed to be like the first visit with him asking me the same questions and forgetting important details of my case. Mr. Kahn was very unprepared for court also and was easily intimidated by the prosecutor and judge. He had difficulty speaking and was always searching for a word he could never find. He came across as extremely meek and passive and I was extremely disappointed in his work, lack of preparation, and overall representation. It's easy to see why Mr. Kahn was released by his employer, the Los Angeles District Attorney, after 17 years because he lacked the professionalism and ethics necessary for that type of work. Go elsewhere for legal representation.
