Immigrating to a new country can be very challenging. Mr. Kaufmann knows that an immigrant faces new laws, new customs and very different ways compared to his or her homeland and needs advice and help to secure a new home for her or his family. His passionate and personal approach ensures that he takes each immigrant’s case as if it was his own.
In his practice, he handles all cases related to immigration: from obtaining visa and green cards based on family relationships, employment or investment, to assisting employers in hiring foreign employees, or defending immigrants when they are threatened with deportation or inadmissibility.
In his criminal defense practice he often focuses on the needs of immigrant defendants, either in trial courts or at the postconviction relief stage (appeals etc.). One area of his interest is the defense of persons charged with crimes committed through the use of the internet.
Mr. Kaufmann is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers' Association, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the Orange County Bar Association. This enables him to keep close contact to other attorneys and learn from their experience.
