John’s practice focuses on all aspects of real estate and business law; land use; entity formation; corporate governance issues; trademarks and intellectual property counseling; mergers & acquisitions; and asset protection, including wills and trusts.
As a Coachella Valley native, John returned to the Desert after graduating from the University of San Francisco School of Law. He began his legal career under the careful guidance and expert tutelage of his father, John Anderholt Jr., who has been one of the desert’s most respected lawyers since 1969. John joined his father’s firm as an associate in 1999 and became a partner in 2003.
John represents a wide range of business and individual clients throughout the Coachella Valley and beyond in both transactional and litigation matters.
From 2003 to 2012, John served as general counsel to one of the nation’s most successful nutraceutical companies, where he advises the board on all matters of corporate governance; financing; representing the company before taxing authorities and other governmental regulatory agencies; negotiating and preparing complex leases, licensing, co-packing, manufacturing, supply and joint venture agreements; and managing, coordinating and overseeing all corporate litigation, including complex securities litigation, trademark infringement lawsuits and class-actions.
John is a licensed Real Estate Broker. He lives in La Quinta with his wife and two sons and is the President of the Board of Directors of the Palm Desert Charter Middle School Foundation.
