Ryan Duane Childers

I cannot say enough positive things about the law offices of Ryan D. Childers & Associates, in El Centro, CA. My boyfriend and I were struggling for two and a half years with a legal issue, which wasn't looking good. We live far from Imperial County, where the issue occurred, and had hired a San Dieg...o-based attorney to handle our case, initially. However, given the differences between county procedures, we found ourselves requiring the services of someone more familiar with the nuances of the area. We were so fortunate to find Mr. Childers through a search of reputable attorneys in El Centro, and could not have been more pleased with the entire team. From his polite and helpful receptionist, to his bright and adept associate attorneys, to his exceptional support team, EVERYONE treated us with courtesy, respect and kindness. Mr. Childers, himself, is very well respected in the community, serving on multiple boards and committees, and happens to be the third-generation of his family to be born and raised in El Centro. He so loves the community that he is raising his own family there, as well. It seems rare to find a defense attorney who is invested in his clients' lives, but Mr. Childers took the time to get to know my boyfriend, myself and our infant daughter. His wife also works out of his office, as a real estate agent, and both she and his young children took the time to introduce themselves. I found this to be such a comfort during a difficult time for our small family. When it came time to take our case to trial and we had to stay in town, two hours away from home and anyone we knew, Mr. Childers and his staff went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure that we had safe and reliable childcare as needed, at no cost. This may seem small, but it made an already stressful situation vastly more manageable. In total, we spent roughly one week in trial. Mr. Childers left not a single stone unturned, listened to our input and truly made us feel like we were all on the same team. He spent countless hours preparing his defense, dissecting the prosecution's case each day and anticipating any pitfalls we may have encountered. Throughout the entire trial, we felt informed and confident that there would be few, if any, surprises. When I had the opportunity to sit in court, Mr. Childers spoke with confidence, respect for everyone involved and armed with as many facts as possible. We won, thanks to his efforts. Whatever the legal matter, be it a defense case, estate planning, family law, or any of the other legal matters his office handles, I would put 100% of my faith in Childers & Associates, every time. We are beyond grateful for their assistance, and so happy to have put the matter behind us and be able to move on with our lives.

I went through a divorce with my first wife who had once told me how she out witted her first husband. She took him for everything and got sole custody of their children. Me knowing this and new to the legal side of family law, I was referred to Ryan. Though my (now) ex-wife and I agreed on property... and other monetary instruments, our only disagreement was of who should gain control of my son. I believed everything to do with my son’s best interest to be split fairly. Instead, Ryan and his staff insisted on “Take the minimum since that is what we can guarantee to get you. Then later, we can take her back to get more visitation time.” This was because I was a male and it is supposedly hard to get much from the family court system. Even though I did not think this was the right choice, I foolishly took the advice of my attorney. I rarely heard from Ryan or his paralegal (Denise) during the process. I would get an occasional message on my phone to call letting me know “We’re almost done.” The few things I insisted him to argue in court was not followed though and somehow forgotten. When the divorce was done, I wasn’t even made aware of the court date. Instead I was given a phone call to show up at the office to sign the paperwork that would conclude the divorce. The process from start to finish took One year and 6 days. It cost $6,000 (rounded), I got close to nothing of what I asked for and I was left feeling taken for! The only person I would recommend Ryan and his staff to is whoever I would go up against.

I hired Ryan at a moment's notice when I had to go through a child custody battle. At the time I was representing myself, but wasn't getting anywhere. So we chose Ryan. From the beginning he and his staff welcomed my family and were most helpful and kind. They treated our family as one of their own a...nd looked at our case as if it were personal to them. We were always treated with the utmost respect, courtesy, and professionalism. My case took about 1-2 yrs to finally wrap up. I must say that in that time it felt like an emotional rollercoaster. Ryan and his staff were there for every phone call and venting rant that I made. Ryan handled my case professionally in the court room even when the Plaintff's attorney tried to bash me, Ryan reassured me that he didn't need to be nasty to win a case. He maintained a calm cool and collected demeanor that showed his true character. To which most people would say you'd need the oppostie in an attorney if you want to win the case, but I stuck with Ryan becasue I truly believed that he had my child's best interest at heart. The case was personal to him. I wasn't just another client. We discussed how we would handle the case and he spent a lot of time gathering evidence and putting together a strong case. His staff helped out in every way they could at last minute situations. In the end Ryan stuck to his guns and performed well in the court room. He was great at cross examination and gave a compelling closing statement. I believe that he was able to really show the judge the true facts of the case and we were able to win our case. I couldn't be happier with the work Ryan and his staff provided. I am so thankful I hired a great person to represent me in court.

I had gone through at least 4 other lawyers before I met Mr. Childers. He helped me to understand what was going on, at a time when I couldnt have been more lost. He listened to me, and treated me with respect and dignity, and with the utmost of professionalism. I felt like an individual with individ...ual circumstances that should be considered, like we were working together as a team to acheive a common goal. Thats the way it should be.
