Billed 6hrs for her to decide to tell me to go small claims, uses AI poorly for lease review and provides vague legal advice.

I was told Kayla could assist with a $15.50 dispute after a phone call where I emphasized the small amount that I was fighting based on principle. In the email back they said yes we can assist but first we need to do a lease review. She then conducted a very boiler plate lease review where she... said if it was a third-party fee then it's not valid but if it wasn't then it's valid without directly answering. This was a largely AI assisted lease review with no actual legal advice. Finally when pressed in my follow up email she said it was valid but too small for her to deal with and that should take it to small claims. She knew the amount. She should of have never accepted me as a client. Completely inept if she couldn't figure out before conducting the lease review that it wasn't worth her time. 6.1 hrs for her to figure out $15.50 wasn't worth her time only to refer me to small claims court ,something that could have been done right off the back if she wasn't interested in advocating for me.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
