My father started a restaurant over 50 years ago in a less complicated time. My brother and I took over operations of the restaurant, but we did not do the book keeping. Our father is a very proud man, and wanted to stay connected ton the business, but also make our life easier by helping. Needless t...o say, certain I's were not dotted and some T's not crossed. We were in a very tuff spot, and needed the best advice available. My cousin is a personal injury attorney and did some research for us. She recommended William Hartsock, and thank God she did. It was never easy, our case was about a father of two son's wanting to help. Little did our dad know he was making unintentional errors. Bill guided us, fought for us, and told a truthful story about a family who achieved a dream, but made some mistakes along the way. I am most impressed by Bill's relentless drive to make happy customers and he is aggressive. He tends to understate what he can deliver, so I checked with him frequently in the initial a couple of months. After he won the first round with IRS perfectly, I was really impressed, but felt that we were p...robably a little bit lucky. Quickly, he won the second round, again perfectly. Then I just forgot about my IRS audit all together: I did not contact him and did not even think about it at all, just waiting to receive monthly bill from him and pay it, I was 100% assured that my case was in capable hands. I slipped so far on this slope that I even forgot to return his call on monthly status update. Why should I care? Bill is handling it! Then all of a sudden, my audit is over: I owe IRS not a penny. By the way, his staff, Sherry and Thida, in particular, are nice and caring. After I handed them a tone of my tax documents, I was expecting that Sherry would sit down with me to decipher them, but she did it without a single question.

We had the worst of the stereotypical auditors. We'd been dealing with her for three years until the firm with whom we had been dealing missed an appointment. They told us it was all over, we would have to pay $30K+. Bill Hartsock got us a new appointment with a new auditor After Bill met with the...m, we owed the IRS NOTHING!!

I certainly would not recommend as an amateur with little experience with lawyers. I just wanted a simple overview - a common sense second opinion and I had to bail when things seemed determined to go in the wrong direction. Is it possible to get simple second opinion, general advice? It was no...t simple in this case me and still bugs me that a hefty retainer was emptied so quickly once I decided to exit - and with so little of consequence to show for it. He may be a good choice for some in specific circumstances - but was not a good fit for me in the context of what I was asking for.
