For other attorneys, I would recommend contacting "Val" for discovery-related questions. I'm new and an associate, slightly afraid of my boss :) I received a "bad response" to an RFP with tons of objections from an L.A. attorney, who was clearly trying to give me the run around. At court when talki...ng with a colleague, I had heard that Val was knowledgeable with discovery, and that she was "so nice," so I gave her a call. She took one brief look at the response and said, "yeah, you're going to need a "meet and confer" letter and probably a motion to further compel." She reviewed my draft "meet and confer" letter, and fixed it (A LOT) to hit its mark. Opposing Counsel redrafted the responses to take out a considerable amount of fluff objections and produced the requested documents without the need of filing a motion. She really is nice and generous with her time, and her doggie sidekick was just the cutest! My boss gave me props, so I'm endorsing Val to really give credit where credit is due.

I was a client briefly. She was assigned to the case because I didn't have much money. She resolved it quickly and in my favor. She argued well at Court - although I understand she does not appear often. The office uses e-mail and scans in your documents, so they save you money by not sending yo...u copies. This attorney won't charge you for unnecessary costs. I have recommended several people to her office. It has a high retainer, but it's worth it.
