Kathlynn Moncera Cadiente

A tried and true Navy brat, Kathlynn (or Katie, as she normally goes by) grew up in California’s Central Valley and moved to San Diego after graduating high school to attend the University of San Diego, where she majored in International Politics and minored in English.

Like many San Diego transplants, Katie did not want to leave the beautiful city after college, and opted to stay local for law school, attending Thomas Jefferson School of Law where she was an editor on the Thomas Jefferson Law Review. During her time at Thomas Jefferson, Katie received numerous honors and awards, including multiple High-Grade Awards for having the highest grade in the course - one of which was for Community Property, a course taught by Klueck & Hoppes’ founding partner, Garrison Klueck.

After graduating as her class’ valedictorian in December 2016 and passing the California Bar Exam, Katie started clerking for a solo-practitioner who specialized in family law. It was at this clerkship that Katie realized her passion for family law. Katie was immediately drawn to the ability to truly help make positive changes in a person’s life. Inspired to pursue a career as a family law attorney, Katie decided to send her resume to the best family law attorney she knew - Garrison Klueck, which is how she came to the Law & Mediation Firm of Klueck & Hoppes, APC as an Associate Attorney in September 2017.

Prior to graduating law school, Katie held various internships with different branches of the San Diego County Public Defender’s Office, including the Central Misdemeanor Unit and the Multiple Conflicts Office, which handles the Public Defender’s Office’s most complicated cases, including death penalty cases. During her last semester of law school, Katie worked as a judicial extern for federal magistrate judge, the Honorable Mitchell D. Dembin.

Outside of law, Katie is a voracious reader and can often be found at the beach with her nose in a book. Katie also enjoys baking, going to music and comedy shows, and trying new restaurants with friends.
