James Donald Crosby

James D. Crosby is a business trial attorney and partner at Henderson, Caverly, Pum & Charney, LLP.

Mr. Crosby is a highly-experienced litigator and trial attorney. For over 30 years, Mr. Crosby has successfully represented entities and individuals in general and complex business, commercial, intellectual property, unfair competition, securities and business tort litigation in state and federal courts. He has represented clients throughout California as well as in New York, Nevada, New Jersey, North Carolina and South Dakota. He has successfully tried numerous jury and non-jury cases, and has represented clients in JAMS and AAA business arbitrations, as well as NAFTA arbitration under UNCITRAL Rules.

Mr. Crosby is AV Preeminent Peer Review rated by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest rating for ethical standards and legal ability. Mr. Crosby has been and remains a leader and active participant in professional organizations and the San Diego legal community, including the State Bar of California, San Diego County Bar Association, the Bar Association of Northern San Diego County, Lopardo #303 Chapter of American Inns of Court, Louis M. Welsh Inn of Court, Association of Business Trial Lawyers of San Diego and The Lawyers Club. He presently serves on the Boards of Directors of the San Diego County Bar Association, Casa Cornelia Law Center and the University of San Diego School of Law Alumni Association. Mr. Crosby regularly provides pro bono services, including direct representation of political asylum applicants through Casa Cornelia Law Center. He has been licensed to practice law since 1983, and has numerous published opinions. He also is a frequent speaker on litigation, technology and the practice of law.

A native Southern Californian, Mr. Crosby was born in Los Angeles, grew up in Santa Barbara and has lived in San Diego since 1975. He attended San Diego State University, receiving a B.S. degree in Marine Biology in 1978. He attended the University of San Diego School of Law and received his law degree in 1983.

Mr. Crosby and his wife, Jill, have three grown daughters. They reside in San Diego and enjoy sailing, water-skiing, the beach, music, concerts, cooking, reading and, most importantly, spending time when they can with their daughters.
