Kevan P. McLaughlin is an award-winning San Diego tax attorney whose practice focuses on civil and criminal tax litigation and controversies. Kevan defends taxpayers and resolves all types of tax disputes with the IRS, FTB, EDD, U.S. Tax Court, CUIAB, and Department of Justice.
In 2009, Kevan formed a boutique law firm with special emphasis on civil and criminal tax preparation. The firm has since grown, adding estate planning, tax planning, trust administration, and tax preparer and CPA defense practice areas. The firm is dedicated to representing taxpayer in these concentrated practice areas, and today helps individuals and businesses with all types of Federal and California tax issues.
Kevan is an involved member of the Tax Law community. He has had the privilege to be a part of many speaking engagements and presentations through years 2013 to 2021. He has numerous of his opinions published such as Nguyen v. United States of America, Kelly v. Commissioner of Internal Revenue, and more.
Kevan contributes to the San Diego community with leadership roles in legal organizations and publications. Additionally, he shares his expertise with San Diego State University students in the Charles W. Lamden School of Accountancy as an Adjunct Professor.
