Cynthia left out a very critical fact here…  After I aggressively succeeded in getting Cynthia exactly the settlement she wanted in her divorce case, she wanted to save a buck and represent herself. While self represented, she systematically made one mistake after another! Well… One who is her own attorney has a fool for a client!   She then came back to ask me to fix all her mistakes. I again aggressively represented her but the judge faulted her self represented actions.  No judge found fault with anything I did at any time. The statute of limitations for malpractice was irrelevant because there was none. The judge agreed with me. Important take aways:   1. Don’t represent yourself. You will likely do irreparable harm to your case. 2. People in family law tend to lie and twist the facts to suit their needs. I have been aggressively fighting these lies for my clients in their cases since the outset of my career and I will continue to do so. Cynthia was just another example. Unfortunately for her she directed her lies at me and she lost.
