Yan graduated from China University of Political Science and Law with a Juris Master in International Economic Law (J.D. equivalent) in 2004; and then from Tulane University Law School as a Master of American Business Law, Graduate with Distinction in 2009. Yan is fluent in both Mandarin Chinese and English.
Before moving to the United States, Yan worked at Chinalawinfo Co. Ltd., and also had clerkship with the China’s Supreme People’s Court judges who handle appeal cases in business & commerce disputes.
Yan lives in the beautiful San Diego, with her husband and two adorable kids. She is also closely tied with San Diego Hunanese Association, and has been a dedicated volunteer to “Spark Foundation,” a charitable foundation to help the needy students in remote and poverty-stricken regions in China to have an opportunity for education.
