About Matthew
Biography
I am the owner of the Law Office of Matthew H. Storey, APC. My work focuses on representing families in all aspects of general and special education law. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to deliver numerous seminars and lectures on topics like special education and self-advocacy. My connection to special education runs deep, as my younger brother has cerebral palsy. Watching my parents navigate challenges with various school districts for eighteen years had a profound impact on me. During that time, there were far fewer resources, attorneys, and advocates available to families, which shaped my perspective and commitment to this field.
Throughout my life, I have been dedicated to education and helping others. As a teacher's assistant, I tutored high school students in subjects such as math, English, history, and science. Through the AVID program, I supported students as they prepared for AP courses, the SAT, and college entrance exams. Additionally, I worked with Legal Aid, where I assisted low-income individuals with a range of legal concerns, including health and welfare benefits, immigration and poverty, family disputes, and consumer law.
After serving honorably in the United States Air Force, I pursued higher education at the University of California at San Diego, earning a degree in Political Science and International Relations. I later obtained my Juris Doctorate from Thomas Jefferson School of Law.
