Steven Mark Bishop

Mr. Bishop came into my life in the most difficult time imaginable. He provided me with fantastic advice, was by my side through the entire divorce process and I could not imagine surviving the process without his excellent assistance. He really knows his stuff, and was amazing in the Court room. ...His knowledge and experience helped me reach a settlement with my very difficult ex-husband without having to go to trial. I would recommend him to anyone looking for an aggressive, knowledgeable Family Law Lawyer. In addition, his staff was responsive and attentive to my every need and I never felt like I was bothering them when i had questions or needed someone to just hold my hand or listen to me vent. Mr. Bishop was referred to me by a very well respected colleague several years ago and I have since been fortunate (or unfortunate, depending upon your viewpoint, it is divorce after all) to retain Mr. Bishop to represent me in 2 divorces. Though prepared and willing to get "tough" I wanted a ami...able, direct, and quick process with a minimum of drama. He was perfect! Always available to address concerns and willing to provide clear and educated counsel when needed. My ex-husband's were even a bit envious of the service I received as they didn't feel similarly represented. Adding to the positive experience was his staff. Personable and experienced. A winning combination. I have recommended Steve and his office to many friends and will continue to seek his counsel should it be needed in the future.

Mr. Bishop is not trustworthy as he painted a wonderful picture of representing me before the judge but when it actually came to that day, he demonstrated himself to either be incompetent or to purposely lose my case (the comments he made seemed like he didn't really believe in my case). I feel I was... also "taken" by him as he spent time and my money "preparing" and obtaining personal information from me but never challenged the judge or my ex. He was also inappropriate in ways I don't wish to discuss here. Thank you.

I fired this attorney from representing me for the following reasons: his multiple continuances concerning my case when they weren't needed, his confusing billing system, his unprofessional manner as well as his overall poor knowledge of client rights. He is not a California State Board CFLS and ...it shows.
