Workers compensation lawyer

7 years ago I started working properties in downtown San Diego I worked for them approximately 7 months until my good friend Larry who got me higher got injured they denied it bottom every minute of the day I'm out 3 months this went on I can't give an exact date but I was just witness I seen him liv...ed heavy cast iron bathtubs lumber tools it's about everything that goes into maintaining several complexes that they own I pretended not to be his friend anymore and the owners decided that they could trust me turns out they were lying cheating and stealing not only from their employees but from their tenants it wasn't about 3 months later that manager Melissa McPhee notice that we were friends still by myself was injured over time left in every lumber mainly cast iron bathtubs water heaters tools furniture a lot of furniture and it just me and a 65 year old man with this stuff I like to work hard but honestly I didn't know I was injuring myself that bad should I bring it to their attention they denied me so I went to the hospital and found a worker's company compensation claim that week I'm running through their attention and I found a claim that infuriated the manager he started yelling at me and threatening me I then decided I better get a lawyer I found Miss Jane engelman she was recommended that's a workers compensation lawyer she didn't buy the book she took my statement she decided she would take my case and took near Me 2 years to win my case cuz yes they fought me they had to pay for my medical I went through tons of physical therapy acupuncture therapy and helped my ultimately injured not enough to pull SSI but enough to get workers compensation and the needed medical help I needed that was a full-time employee for 80 to 40 hours a week living maintenance security officer I was not allowed to leave the building very often I respected the owners not that they were really nice people I'm going to find out they were cheating the tenants and some of the tenants we're getting old dying the owner would go into her room or whoever's room it might be and they would clean it out before the family would get there and did this all the time unfortunately it went unreported that's not my problem my problem is Jane engelman she's a great lawyer and took close to two and a half to three years doing my case and I didn't receive $40,000 not one lump sum in the beginning he offered me 5,000 I said you have to speak to my lawyer I'm not the one mitigating she is you eventually went to court and that's why they decided to settle we didn't have to see a judge can't even go ahead and did a wonderful job and then just recently last year I was injured and another job site several years ago any owner United he said he would fight me and he would fight my mother even threaten my mother a few times verbally over the phone to me after that I decided no you have to speak to my lawyer and Jane eagleman took another case for me I still have pain from the last job I've had for nearly 14 years working for Mr Mike Schindler I can't understand how an employer would deny me medical benefits but with a law and a great lawyer and everything works out he threatened me in a few occasions but I said the threats are no good speak to my lawyer I give her five stars if I could give her more I would I hope I never have to use her talents again cuz now I'm pretty close to being retired and disabled permanently thank you I enjoy sharing my review when I wish you could keep it anonymous God bless you sincerely Eric Brader Williams

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
