They are counted for the time you can reasonably prove you would have worked had you not been terminated. That period of time may not be very long.

To be paid you need an agreement or court order providing so as an expert witness. Otherwise, you get minimal lay witness fees.

If not there, go to the Dept. where the matter is scheduled to be heard and demand to see the file.
